This restaurant was given high praise by the Rick Steves guidebook as being where he eats when he visits Évora. We went for lunch and loved our meal! Our waiter Andre (young man with glasses), patiently explained the menu specials which were only printed in Portuguese and provided the best service. The roast lamb was particularly outstanding.

An absolutely lovely place. The same price range as all the bad tourist reataurants in town (the type with washed out pictures on the meny), yet at Dom Joaquim you get white table cloths, gourmet food, an extensive wine list and excellent, knowlegable and attentive waiters. They serve traditional portuguese dishes and also have great vegetarian options. A great experience we would highly recommend to anyone!

We had a fantastic dinner at Dom Joaquim in Évora. From start to finish everything was excellent — the food, the service, the ambiance — truly a memorable evening. I ordered the Borrego Assado no Forno (oven-roasted Alentejo lamb), and it was superb: tender, perfectly seasoned with olive oil, garlic, bay leaves and rosemary, and the flavors were beautifully balanced. My girlfriend had the pork cheek roasted in red wine), which literally melted in her mouth and had a rich, deep flavor without being heavy. Some additional highlights: the waiter was friendly and attentive, the wine suggestions were spot on, and the dessert was a great way to end the meal (we couldn’t resist trying something local and sweet). Highly recommend Dom Joaquim to anyone in Évora looking for true Alentejo cuisine with quality, flavor, and heart. Will definitely return.

Great food and service! I really like this restaurant because it is elegant without being too formal. The flavours and textures are very good and the prices make it a bargain. Highly recommended!

The food was delicious. The service was amazing. The wine was perfect. We had a lovely time. I highly recommend the prawns with garlic and the bife de lombo with mushrooms and bacon. We will definitely come back. Thank you for a great experience!

The only Michelin bib restaurant in Evora, absolutely deserving the recognition. Excellent service. Our waiter was spot on advising the dishes typical for the local cuisine. The mustard and garlic prawns were an absolute highlight of our lunch. Nothing to complain on. We left extremely content. Make sure to book in advance. Seems like a local favorite. No surprise though.

Good traditional restaurant within the walls of Évora. The pork cheek dish is amazing and a must try here. Other dishes like the octopus and some appetizers are also nice but nothing beats the pork cheeks. Very good wine options and also several typical desserts worth tasting. Reservations are strongly recommended and they accept credit card payments. The staff was great
